The Dirtbag Dad has been as sick as a dog. Kid number one (Colin) got it in the beginning of August. Mild fever and cough. Would not go away and persisted for about 9 days. Gorilla (guerrilla?) anti-biotics finally knocked that sucker out.
Jennifer was next, but she is the ultimate warrior and I almost forgot she was affected for several days. Very, very strong woman.
Next, a couple of weeks later, Kid number two (Audrey) got it for three days or so, just as school was getting into full swing. We knew better and got her the anti-biotics, but she couldn't take the liquid and threw it up each time she tried to take her dose. Fun! She is a brave soldier and gave it her all; but, fortunately, the monster within subsided and she didn't need the medicine.
Then I got it for a week. I just toughed it out though it did lay me out flat a couple of times. Just getting back to normal: this means school (been back since mid-August), soccer ramping up (I am team parent of Colin's team and a referree for Audrey's), swim team and dive lessons, and probably a bunch of stuff I've forgotten. Oh yeah, the winds of change have been blowing at Claire's pre-school (our family's been there for almost nine years) and this is nuts, but we are considering changing schools for her last year after all we've invested there. But it's no longer the same place. Such is how things roll sometimes.
I've got plenty of topics about which to write. Just need to find some time! Still need to explain the whole dirtbag lifestyle of which some sub-cultures are well aware. And the dirtbag dad sub-sub-culture that I many not even be able to explain yet!
Stay tuned. If anyone is out there. Ha ha ha! That's ok, my main customer may be me, at least for the time being. This keeps me off the streets and out of Breaking Bad type antics.
